Meta-analysis of Five Clinical Trials including Columbia Laboratories’ PREGNANT Study Published in American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology
LIVINGSTON, NJ — December 14, 2011 — Columbia Laboratories, Inc. (Nasdaq: CBRX) announced today that a meta-analysis of data from five double-blind, placebo-controlled trials of vaginal progesterone, including the PREGNANT study, Columbia's pivotal clinical trial of progesterone vaginal gel 8% to reduce the risk of preterm birth in women with premature cervical shortening, found that administering vaginal progesterone to asymptomatic women with a sonographic short cervix in the mid-trimester of pregnancy significantly reduces the risk of preterm birth and neonatal morbidity.

Columbia Laboratories and Watson Pharmaceuticals Confirm FDA Advisory Committee to Review Preterm Birth NDA
LIVINGSTON and PARSIPPANY, NJ— November 10, 2011 — Columbia Laboratories, Inc. (Nasdaq: CBRX), and Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NYSE: WPI), today confirmed that the Advisory Committee for Reproductive Health Drugs of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is scheduled to review Columbia's New Drug Application (NDA) for progesterone vaginal gel for the reduction of risk of preterm birth in women with short uterine cervical length regardless of other risk factors in the mid-trimester of pregnancy on January 20, 2012.

(Nasdaq: CBRX) (the “Company”) today announced that its Board of Directors on September 16, 2011, adopted amendments to its Stockholder Rights Plan (the “Rights Plan”), adopted March 12, 2002, to extend the expiration date of the Rights Plan from March 12, 2012, to July 3, 2013, to preserve the value of significant tax assets associated with the Company’s tax net operating loss carryforwards (“NOLs”) under Section 382 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Columbia Laboratories' NDA for PROCHIEVE® Vaginal Progesterone Gel Accepted for Filing by FDA
LIVINGSTON and MORRISTOWN, NJ— June 27, 2011 — Columbia Laboratories, Inc. (Nasdaq: CBRX) and Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NYSE: WPI) today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted for filing Columbia’s New Drug Application (NDA) for PROCHIEVE® (progesterone gel) for the reduction of risk of preterm birth in women with short uterine cervical length in the mid-trimester of pregnancy. The acceptance of the NDA for filing means FDA has determined that the application is sufficiently complete to permit a substantive review. The acceptance for filing does not provide any assurance that the FDA will ultimately approve the NDA.
